AIM

To enable delegates to prepare training sessions geared o the learning needs of individuals and conduct training using the skills acquired and developed

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the programme delegates should be able to:

Day 1
  • Identify ways training can be used in their job roles
  • Describe the personal skills and learning goals they bring to the workshop
  • Describe how following adult learning principles in developing and conducting contributes to training effectiveness
  • Analyse a training need
  • Develop learning objectives
  • Outline the training content for a learning objective
Day 2
  • Select appropriate training methods
  • Use training aids appropriately in training
  • Develop a training plan
  • Make accurate observations of learners’ non-verbal behaviour
  • Demonstrate listening skills through summarising
  • Use appropriate questioning techniques
  • Identify strategies for handling common problem situations
Day 3
  • Conduct training using their training plans
  • Identify ways to transfer their newly acquired training skills to the work setting

This workshop is delivered in an interactive style using a range of training techniques and resources. Course handouts are provided.
