- Identify the stages involved in planning and controlling work and apply them to their own environment.
- Recognise the importance of setting, and checking against, agreed targets and resources.
- Explain what authority is and how it relates to power and responsibility within an organisation.
- Identify how authority is established and used in their workplace.
- Distinguish between different kinds of authority.
- Use their authority effectively to the benefit of their team and the organisation.
- Have a better understanding of financial responsibilities.

- Looking at the authority of position, of the expert and the use of personal authority and responsibility.
