AIM

To provide delegates with relevant knowledge and awareness of changes to Equal Opportunities in the U.K. and how these should be demonstrated both in the workplace and in the provision of court services.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the workshop delegates should be able to:
  • Demonstrate their understanding of specific types of discrimination i.e. race, sexual orientation, disability and religion.
  • Explain and understand the basic requirements of relevant legislation and codes of practice and how these apply to their role in the M.C.S.
  • Discuss initiatives that have demonstrated fair treatment and consider how these might be extended e.g. names and naming systems, oath-taking, register of facilities for the disabled etc.
This workshop is delivered in an interactive style using a range of training techniques and resources. Course handouts are provided.
