Jan has been working in training and development for 24 years with a wide range of skills, experience and abilities at all levels. Qualified as an NVQ Assessor/Internal Verifier, Jan has guided and supported an enormous number of candidates through Levels II/III/IV and, in particular, ILM Management Levels 11/III/V. In association with local accredited centres Jan can offer new ILM Awards including Executive Diploma and NVQ certification in Management).


As a Director of a private training company for eight years with a workforce of 109 Jan has extensive experience in Human Resources and gained her I.P.M.(now IPD) in 1991. During her time with this company Jan was the driving force to achieve both Investors in People and ISO 9001 simultaneously and their subsequent re-assessment three years later. Her enthusiasm and commitment in these areas of business resulted in her becoming the Chairperson of the IiP Network at Tyneside TEC and obtaining the BSI Internal Auditor qualification for quality management. Jan now offers support to companies wishing to attain these quality marks.

Since becoming a Freelance Management Trainer/Consultant Jan has worked with manufacturing, production, warehousing & distribution and service sector organisations on a national basis developing and delivering in-house management development programmes to national standards, often multi-level. A wide range of training workshops are offered in support of these programmes and NVQ knowledge and understanding. One-to-one coaching is also available.

Jan is also an Assessor for Newcastle College Company for students undertaking the Diploma in Business Excellence (equivalent to NVQ Level III) and Implementing Total Quality Management (equivalent to NVQ Level IV) as a distance learning package.
